Customer Onboarding Coordinator - Ottawa, Canada or Remote

Buildings IOT is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Customer Onboarding Coordinator to join our Customer Success Department. All software onboarding starts with the Customer Onboarding Coordinator who manages project documents and quickly becomes the expert on the software requirements for each deployment.

The ideal candidate is obsessively dedicated to details, able to concentrate deeply on specific tasks and has a high degree of comfort with construction drawings. Experience working for a mechanical engineering firm, construction or controls company a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage project documents, translating information from mechanical drawings to data modeling spreadsheets, ensuring complete and accurate documentation for every software customer.
  • Gather and document all building information for each project.
  • Work closely with Customer Onboarding Engineers to support the data loading process.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure all project drawings and specifications are available and organized properly.
  • As projects require, support the site-survey process to ensure data collected at the building level is data that will be needed at the software level.
  • Work closely with Customer Success Managers to help them find answers to customer questions quickly.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams across departments when necessary to address a customer issue or software roadblock.
  • Assist with the QA/QC process as customer data is onboarded into the system.
  • Support ongoing efforts to improve implementations and onboarding processes and contribute to process optimization efforts.

Education and Experience

  • Technical degree or equivalent work experience in construction and/or engineering setting
  • 3+ years experience as project coordinator or similar role
  • Familiarity with buildings and mechanical systems, including HVAC, lighting and metering preferred
  • Comfort reviewing mechanical and architectural drawings, reading footnotes and extracting relevant information with minimal oversight
  • Extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated to do everything right the first time
  • Curious problem-solver with a willingness to learn about technical details
  • Comfortable working in customer-centric environment with urgent deadlines, competing priorities, and new projects that present their own unique challenges every time
  • Team player who is self-motivated and determined to deliver high-quality work with very few errors
